Urgency Vs Patience

Thursday the 24th of September 2026. One of the things that I'm going to be talking about in this reflection is how challenging it is not to move with this sense of urgency, especially because from the perspective of a consumer, uh, which I was for a very long time, looking at hip hop, looking at rap, um, you know,

everything essentially felt very, um, everything felt very, uh, not lucid, uh, but lucid for a lack of a better way of putting it. Things felt very cohesive and things felt very smooth.

Each released, one of my favourite artists will put out, just seems smooth. their video seems smooth, their consistency moves looks smooth. You know, the success just essentially looks really smooth. And I would always see the nice end of it.

And that's how it's supposed to look. It's very challenging for me to navigate without a sense of urgency as I'm beginning to put my mixtape together as I'm beginning to put all the infrastructure together that will allow me to navigate through this industry in the long in the long run. Um, but then I have to remind myself to be patient, uh, because again, patience works in the long run.

Like patients is definitely something that's going to allow me to work well and work efficiently in the wrong, in the long run. If I try to rush my process and if I try to, you know, rush everything that I'm trying to release, it's going to look rushed and therefore I lose effectiveness. It's not necessarily to say that it's not going to work.

But I have to be very intentional with the things that I do so that I get the result that I'm actually looking for. Because ultimately, don't get me wrong. I could put out music, I could put out the mixtape, I could put out any project, anything that I plan to release, or strategise to release.

I could do all of these things.

But um, you know, if it's, if it works, if people are happy with it, but I'm personally not happy with it, then I've kind of lost the point if that makes sense. Like, you know, people can still be happy with what I put out and they could be happy with how I put it out, even if it isn't to the best quality and standard that I was personally aiming for.

But ultimately, what I'm actually looking for is the, uh, I'm looking for the overall satisfaction. I want people to be satisfied, but I also want to be proud of the process that I put out.
