Can't Be Shy

Monday, October 12th, 2026. Um, there's a very, um, interesting uh, moment that was captured in video on YouTube via the Brandman Network. These guys are effectively like, you know, a marketing agency.

I don't think they go by the Brandman network anymore. the, no labels necessary. And they often talk about this experience as marketing guys, when they're working with artists, when they get, effectively, they prepare them through the game plan, they go through all the necessary steps for their campaigns, for their releases. And all of a sudden, you know, they get to campaign release day, uh, a week goes by.

They get all the, you know, the, you know, they start to gain traction, things start to go well. There's all sorts of like, um, different people trying to reach out to the brand.

You're supposed to go to the marketing team, to the artist, to collaborate because they're getting exposure, and the artist is nowhere to be seen.

Like, this is a common phenomenon apparently.

Uh, where the artist effectively just, uh, you know, goes into their shell and did they hide away because, um, of uh, imposter syndrome or this kind of like, uh, you know, realisation that whilst they may have been physically ready when it comes to the strategy, like mentally, they weren't prepared for the transition or the journey towards growth, um, fame or success as an artist. And I think this is something that I'm going to be, you know, is going to be a recurring reference.

I think is a very, very, very powerful and important point for any, every artist, especially myself, to remember, especially now, like as my, um, you know, son Candid has been released. And, you know, I've been happy all the way up until this point, I've been excited, I've been, you know, excited all the way up, put it this point.

And now all of a sudden, It's like I'm going within my show, but the truth of the matter is that I can't be shy.

It's now time for me to really, really, you know, confidently show myself and, you know, be there, like, you know, be there and be present and be willing to go through the necessary steps to effectively. You know, I have to be willing to face rejection.

You know, I have to be willing to face, like, you know, um, be ignored, sometimes getting nasty comments back, which is, I think, is a rare occurrence.

I think I suffer far more in my mind than I do in reality. But the truth of the matter is that like, you know, um, I'm beginning to experience that same thing and the only thing that I've done is just release a song on YouTube. Uh, but, uh, yeah, the, the, the key takeaways that I can't be shy.

Like, this isn't the type of game where you come in and you get rewarded for being shy. You've got to show up, you've got to show yourself, you've got to be yourself, and you have to keep going.

You need to systemize your methods.

Um, so that you, when the time you wake up in the morning, you already know what you're doing, you know how many repetitions you're following through on and, you know, you're almost working like a robot. Mechanically, yes. Um, you know, systematically, yes.

Of course, you still need to be a human being when you're doing it, but there is a methodical, cold, analytical process that you're going through to make sure that you're getting the results that you want. Can't be shy.
