There Will Be Distractions

All right, cool. Wednesday, the 11th of February 2026. And, uh, you know, hmm, you know, there was something that skepta, popular UK rap artist, um, said once before, and uh, the thing is, I was trying to quote him, um, earlier this year, I think, when I was in the process of

kind of like selling my, uh, or scrapping my uh, Mercedes C 200 sport, and uh, you know, effectively saying goodbye to that era, transportation for some reason. seems to be something that plays a massive role to my identity, to my sense of purpose, to my sense of direction. 

And I was unable to effectively kind of like pick up on the exact quote that just made very much sense to kind of like me referencing at the time when I was going through this kind of like transition in my life. 

And I couldn't remember exactly what it was, but I think, you know, now that I'm able to reflect back to it, it had everything to do with distractions. You know, like this dream that I chase, you know, becoming a popular music artist, being able to make money off of my own music. 

It takes guts, glory, dedication, blood, sweat, tears, you name it, you need it. Um, it takes everything that you've absolutely got and more if it isn't enough. And, you know, skepta once said that, you know, distractions, you know, people are going to distract you. things are going to get in the way. 

No matter how much you kind of like, you know, express how passionate you are about this thing that you're trying to do, there are always going to be people that are very locked in in the present reality. 

Like, you know, the version of you that hasn't blown, the version of you that hasn't succeeded, the version of you that still wants to hang around and go for pizza every other weekend and go through a drink whenever, kind of like, you know, the request is being made. And there's a psychological factor that applies, you know, that plays into it. 

Unfortunately, like, you know, many people just want the same movie to play out, like, you know, exactly, has this been playing out for the past couple of years? 

Which is why, like, you know, I need to be careful to kind of, like, you know, keep myself preserved and keep myself kind of, like, moving forward, despite how many people want to see the same scenario being played out over and over again.
