The Thing About Perception

Thursday 8th of May 2025 and you know what like I'm slightly worried about perception like how I'm gonna be perceived you know going forward into the future I mean at the moment it's not really that much of a problem because I don't have that big a fan base to worry about
perception. But perception is always something that has been on the back of my mind in big waves, in big wavelengths as well as like small wavelengths. I've got days when I couldn't really care less because I've accepted that how I'm perceived is how I'm perceived. Like I've literally got no control over that. Although people in the PR business when it comes to kind of like being a rap artist music artist Whatever it is might have a different idea like for the most part You know as I am like, you know, you know, like I can't run away from who I am
You know, like I'm gonna be perceived based on kind of like who I am internally as well as externally You know, I can't like who I am internally as well as externally. You know I can't hide who I am so effectively like you know the true colors are gonna show no matter how much no matter how hard I try to hide them. Although at the same time kind of like growing up in an old-school era it wasn't cool to be geeky it wasn't cool to be a nerd like you you were either a thug, kind of like molded by,
kind of like the twists and turns and the bends of like, the street corners, the streets, or you were just basically kind of like cool and popular, maybe through one medium or the other, like it could be football, it could be something.
When you kind of like, when you don't have either of those avenues, it wasn't really cool to be a rapper like you. If you weren't a gangster, what were you rapping about? And so that perception is still there. And also like, it's not really cool to be educated.
I mean, yeah, it's cool to be cool. I mean, it's cool to kind of like be smart, but when you sound educated when you sound like you know like you know like when you speak or when you write like you're writing with a quill those people don't really tend to be it doesn't it doesn't tend to go well with kind of like you know street music rap music so to speak so perception is always something that I guess you know it's been on the back of my mind but it
opens up a good avenue for a good conversation. And we'll see how the future goes forward, really and truthfully, like what it holds for me. Because I know that, you know, I've already been given feedback that when I rap I sound pretty eloquent, which is like, I'm curious to see how that turns out.
