Friday the 13th of March, 2026, and I want to talk a little bit about resistance, especially resistance from the difficult things. You know, often at times, in my blog, I've written and I've spoken about, uh, you know, the, you know, my addiction to my mobile phone, an addiction
to like social media in general. You know, in immediate gratification, you know, kind of like dopamine releases that really come from not a great deal of effort and how this can become very toxic for personal development.
I mean, I could talk about personal development in a completely different segment, but here, I can, you know, I really do want to focus on, you know, resistance and, uh, you know, combining that together with, uh, you know, personal development and why it's bad to effectively resist, you know, is why it's difficult.
Why it's bad to essentially like resist, you know, delayed gratification and, you know, how these quick dopamine releases. something that you get from drinking an energy drink. You barely have to do anything for it.
You just rip open a can of straight dopamine. I have a packet of sweets, straight dopamine. I'm getting 100 notifications of your on your phone, from TikToks, Instagrams, YouTubes.
Just sit down there and watch YouTube, instant dopamine. Um, but me as an artist, me as somebody who wants to become, you know, successful in in the music industry and all of these things, like, you know, writing a blog article, right? How long is that going to take?
What have I got to do to get that done? Um, you know, effectively working myself from reams and reams and reams of paperwork.
Um, you know, digital paperwork that I have to do to sort out my PRS, um, you know, uh, saying in our messages, all of these things that don't give me that immediate dopamine release, but because I've become so accustomed to that instant dopamine that I get from, you know, you know, consuming junk food, uh, just going, you know, basically drinking energy drinks and stuff like that makes me very resistant to long and painful work.
And so it's very important that I talk about that and I mentioned that because if I, the more resistant I am to doing difficult things, the more I'm likely to procrastinate, the less likely it's going to be that I'm going to be successful in the long run.
