Later Means Never
Tuesday, sixth of um October 2026. And um, later means never. It's becoming more and more apparent to me that, um, like, you know, unless things are being accomplished in the now, like they will never be accomplished.
The idea of tomorrow never really exists. Um, by the time that I tell myself that I'm going to do something tomorrow, the likelihood of it never happening just increases tenfold. And so it's very, very important for me to hold myself to a higher standard and to stop pretending like, you know, time is essentially abundant.
I mean, I know that I've spoken about this. Um, as a, you know, in like recent history. But again, it's about recognising and being able to take ultimate control of my life and my surroundings, especially in my time.
And I often find that there's a saying that ring's quite true is like, you know, it says, you know, don't waste your time or time will waste you. Like, it's very important for me to essentially become intentional about everything that I do, even when it comes to the time that I spend on my phone.
The action that I'm effectively.
I dont want to just, you know, be blindly hanging around on my phone. I want to be doing something constructive. I wanna be doing something accumulative.
I want to be exercising an action that then adds on to, you know, that accumulates to a result that I actually want to accomplish. And honestly, there's, there is, you know, I'm becoming more and more apparent that there isn't really a great deal of value that is accumulated from doom scrolling.
You know, I never get to the end of, uh, you know, the, the scroll, if that makes sense.
It's a never-ending scrolling feed. Like, I'm not sure if there was ever a period, you know, when Instagram was around, for example, where I just scroll for so long that eventually I've seen every single post and there's nothing else for me to see that the post is over. Like, there's no more scrolling.
Whereas now I can just continue to scroll and scroll and scroll and watch and watch and watch and watch. Like, it's not accumulating to anything. So I need to learn how to, you know, habituate myself and just take more control of my time and do things in and out rather than waiting for later, later, which never comes.
