It’s Daunting

Cool. Monday, the 2nd of February 2026. So on Wednesday, I've got this performance.

Um, by the time that this post comes out, I would have already performed it and, uh, you know, I would be reflecting over, you know, what went well, what didn't go well, you know, kind of like, did I do everything that I needed to do to make sure that I got the best out of this event? Now, this performance is taking place at Elephant and Castle.

It's effectively an event that aims to deal or grapple with kind of like the modern, um, the modern essence of, uh, you know, masculinity, right?

I believe the actual title of the event is Hug Me Daddy, which is a performance that's actually taking place from the 5th, you know, onwards to a specific date. can't remember. You know, and I've been invited to it. Now I've got this song that I need to rehearse and I've been really wanting to rehearse it.

I, you know, I've just been procrastinating on it on it, which isn't great. But in essence, I can't lie. Right?

Um, it's a bit tricky, I guess, because um, the song that I'm performing is called uh, Darkness. It is an a cappella and it's a song that I've never really fully rehearsed and I need to learn how to get it right. Unfortunately, like it isn't a song that is, you know, that blends with any beat on instrumental, so I need to be able to formulate the flow and the tempo.

Using my own vocals, using my own voice. And it's a very, very kind of like intricate and difficult song to perform. It's going to take a lot out of me.

So I really do need to practice it. But hopefully I'll find a way to put it together and, you know, hopefully we'll be able to kind of like come out into something that's like really gelled and well put together. So yeah, it's a bit of a daunting task, but in a way, I'm looking forward to it.
