Finding Joy Before Success

Thursday, the 2nd of April, 2026. And um, I really want to talk about joy and uh, the access to joy in the context of like, you know, becoming a, a rapper artist, again, the journey that I'm on to effectively pursue my music career.
And, you know, when I 1st started out, there were a lot of things, you know, that I looked at, especially when it came to like, you know, the people that I was inspired by when it came to rap and hip hop and all of these things.
Um, you know, one of those things being confidence, one of those things being recognition, one of those things being fame, then wealth, then superstardom, you know, all of those things that appeal to me because when you look at the opposite end of the spectrum in those regards, like that was a reality that was very much mine.
So, you know, you can basically reverse engineer your way through that and realise that, you know, I wasn't confident, you know, I lacked it and it made me feel awful and I'm not going to talk too much about that. I suppose I'm going to touch on those aspects a little bit later on.
But, you know, I really started talking, you know, I really started thinking about, you know, joy and, you know, access, you know, you know, how I can access joy.
And honestly, I always believed, I genuinely believed right in the beginning of my journey, that that joy was only accessible once I became confident, once I became wealthy, once I became, you know, once I when once I was recognised for my talents, you know, once, you know, I reached superstardom.
But I found that, you know, in the process, and it has been a very long process, if I'm being honest, you know, bearing in mind, like, you know, am I as confident as I would like to think that I am probably not?
Am I as wealthy as I want to be? Probably not. The answer is definitely knowing that department.
And I am incredibly joyful. I have found joy and I, I've been taken aback by that really and truthfully.
I believe there is, you know, there's something that somebody said, like, you know, he's a UK artist, his name is JME, and you said, like, you know, so long as you have your needs met, you know, Mazdor's hierarchy of needs, so long as you have those basic needs met, and you're able to do, you know, you're able to do what you love in the meantime.
That is the foundation, that is the basis. That is where joy comes from. The rest, in my eyes, and anybody else's, you know, would that's what my advice would be, should just be a bonus.
