The Old Me

Okay, Tuesday 10th of March 2026. I have to be honest. I have to be honest. There's a part of me that misses the older version of me and I don't really understand why because I'm not entirely certain that I'm any less hard-working than what I used to be.

It's just that my life now is way more demanding, which is a little bit annoying because when life wasn't as demanding as it was, as hard-working as I was back then, I got to enjoy the fruit of my labour more so because I was able not to necessarily do a lot more quickly,

but because it wasn't that demanding, the reward that I got from doing something difficult or doing something that was quite challenging, just felt a little bit more fruitful because, you know, but let me put that into layman terms.

So in other words, you know, when you have completed a workout, you know, whatever it is, right?

It feels good that you've completed a workout, but when the workout is more demanding or you've got more sets to do, right?

Once you have completed a specific workout and now you're, you know, you come out of the gym and you realise you have to walk 5 miles to get home, although it's quite rare in nowadays case. It can be very difficult.

It can feel very daunting. so to speak. And let's say, for example, after you've done that 5 mile walk, you then need to get home and you now need to write a 2000 web essay or whatever it is.

That workout that once felt brilliant when you finished Jane, you had nothing else to do, maybe you were going to get on the bus and you were going to, you know, you were going to drive home and then you're going to rest or whatever it is.

Now it feels like, you know, you know, now it feels like, uh, you know, that mountain that was once climbed, now feels like, you know, it's just a hill. And it's very annoying because it's like,

sometimes I do look back and think I used to be a lot more effective, like, you know, what happened to the old me, which is very weird because I don't think I've become, like, if I really look at it objectively, I haven't become less hard-working.

It's just that things are more demanding and there's a lot more that can, you know, distract me nowadays.
