As Within So Without

Thursday, the 12th of March 2026. There is something that I worry about, but at the same time, I contemplate over it, in the sense where I am neither thinking about it positively or negatively. Right?

And this is the thing that I concern myself with. I am starting to become suspicious of the possibility that happiness is really and truthfully internal as opposed to external, in the sense that there is nothing external that can truly make me happy and sustain that happiness.

A lot of that happiness comes from within, uh, in the sense that a lot of that happiness comes from the way that I decide to feel about a certain situation.

Sure. There are a lot of things that can happen in a given day that will automatically make me happy. Somebody smiling at me.

Somebody interacting with me, somebody's been engaged with me, somebody giving me a hug.

Um, you know, being close, having a family, and constantly being around people, that will, you know, boost certain, uh, I guess, uh, I want to say chemical levels within my brain, certain, you know, biological levels within my body. And, uh, you know, you know, I will be happy in that sense.

But when it comes to that fulfilment, that self-actualisation, I don't think there's really anything external. You know, that can really sustain that happiness. A lot of it, and I really do mean, you know, 60 to 90% of it is to do with the attitudes that I choose to wear on that given day and how well I'm able to maintain that attitude on that given day.

Because honestly, like I genuinely feel like I've had days where I've had every single reason to be successful, you know, to feel successful, to feel happy, and yet I'm just choosing to be miserable. And I don't understand.

don't get it. What is it that I'm trying to attach, you know, my, you know, what is it that I'm attaching to a specific outcome that is supposed to make me feel happy?

I really don't know. I don't think there is anything really that can make me happy more than I can make myself happy, to be honest.
